To be sold on Saffron Rouge, a product range has to first and foremost be as organic and natural as possible. Once I’ve scoured the ingredient lists, and ensured that they’re clean and pure, the next step is actually testing them out. After all, being organic isn’t everything: A product has to deliver great results too. All of the Inara products are completely effective, but with summer in full swing I’m currently relying specifically on the Babassu Sugar Rub. Continued...

I have plenty of problems when it comes to my skin, but thankfully, acne has never been one of them. However, although I’m not plagued with constant spots that crop up at a moments notice, I know that plenty of people are. Recently someone asked me what products I would recommend to heal blemishes. And so, I sought out an expert to help guide me though the best organic options. Continued...

Awards are handed out all the time. And from Grammy’s and Emmy’s to even a Golden Globe, Sting has dozens. But how many other celebrities can boast they have a frog named after them? As co-founder of the Rainforest Foundation with his wife, Trudie Styler, Sting was recognized for his commitment to save the rain forest by having a Columbian tree frog named Dendropsophus stingi in his honor. Although a pale face can be found here and there, it seems being tan—whether real or faux—is de rigueur when it comes to the celebrity set. From dark haired beauties like Jennifer Lopez to the blonde goddesses of Heroes, Ali Larter and Hayden Panettiere, stars know how to glow. And why not… tanned skin makes your eyes pop, your smile whiter and your complexion radiant. You feel thinner, happier and healthier. Of course being tanned from the sun is anything but healthy. So you can fake it with a few of my favorite products. Continued...

Stop right there! Put your hands up and slowly step away from the heavy moisturizer. With winter in the past, you’ve retired your snow boots, your warm mittens and that cozy hat that looks silly but keeps your head toasty. So now it’s time to tuck away the rich cleansers and thick creams, and restock your bathroom with lightweight options better suited for the season. Here are my four favorites right now. Together they’re everything you’ll need (except for a sunscreen) to keep your skin healthy and glowing. Continued...

So you want to relax, but splurging for a high-priced bath product leaves you tenser than ever? And a pampering getaway to a five-star spa is something that will only happen in your dreams? No problem, simply grab some inexpensive essential oils along with other ingredients that are probably already lurking in your cabinets. Before you know it you'll be soaking in a luxurious, stress-relieving bath. Continued...

He's an American icon from decades past who's managed to stay relevant by singing with Jessica Simpson and performing on Stephen Colbert's holiday show. And although Willie Nelson's body of music and movies is impressive, it's really his dedication to activism that really stands out to me. Continued...

Two of my favorite recent documentaries are Who Killed The Electric Car? and The 11th Hour. The first film is about the creation and almost immediate destruction of an eco-friendly electric car and the mystery behind the destruction of something so desperately needed right now. The second centers around the idea that it's still possible to make a positive impact regarding the global crisis we're in. The human race is responsible for destroying the delicate balance of earth's ecosystems and it's our responsibility to fix it-before it's too late. I recently sat down to watch them again-this time with my kids-and it really got me thinking. During the films I had to hit pause over and over to explain certain factors to my kids to help them understand. Then the idea struck me: what better way to learn than from example. So I decided to set a challenge for my family. Continued...

I'm always going on and on about how important it is to use products that are free of synthetic ingredients-including preservatives. Of course this inevitably leads to the question about the shelf life of organic goods. All products-whether they're organic or not-will eventually become contaminated with molds, fungi, bacteria and other nasty little things you don't want swimming in your face cream. For almost 100 years conventional products have used parabens-the most common type of preservative-to protect cosmetics, medicine and even some food products. Continued...

Sunscreen isn't just for summer. If you want to preserve your complexion, prevent skin damage and retain a youthful glow, the number one thing to avoid is overexposure from the sun. And even just a little bit of daily exposure adds up. There are plenty of conventional moisturizer/sunscreen combos out there. But those, of course, shield your face and neck with chemicals. Many organic and natural alternatives, although effective, are hard to rub in and often leave skin with a ghostly white tint. Certainly okay for a day at the beach, but they're not an ideal everyday solution. Luckily there are a few products out there that make every day sun protection simple. Continued...
