It can also help reduce the appearance of large pores or oily skin.

INIKA Mineral Setting Powder is a unique loose powder containing mica and calcium carbonate. It can be applied prior to a foundation to absorb excess oil or to diminish the appearance of large pores. The powder can be used as an ‘eye primer’ to help reduce excess oil on the eyelid to keep eyeshadows stay put all day.

great product for oily skin 4

This powder definately has a place for those with oily skin. Personly I find that I get the same effect by dabbing my face quickly with a tissue to take away the small amount of shine I get after 5-6hrs of wearing my makeup. It does have a very tiny amount of shimmer to it so not only does it take away the shine but brightens your face ever so slightly aswell. It is a very nice product but not necessary for everyone.

Essential for those of us with oily complexions 4

Not everybody needs this step, but I certainly do. I have very oily, shiny skin. No matter how much I wash and cleanse it, the shine is there. This mineral powder really takes the edge of that. I use it as a primer before my foundation and as a final layer on top, just to be extra sure. It doesn't alter the colour of my foundation or blush or anything - just adds a polished, airbrushed finish. I have to touch up two or three times throughout the day, but at least I can feel confident that I look my best for a few hours at a time.

Directions for use

Shake the pot with the lid on to bring a small amount of setting powder into the sifter. Pick up a small amount of powder with a kabuki brush. Work the powder into the brush by pressing it into the lid to ensure the brush is evenly coated. Tap off excess and turn the brush bristles-up and tap it lightly on the counter to settle the powder into the brush. Using short, feathery, vertical and horizontal strokes, apply the setting powder onto the face. This will allow for more even foundation coverage and increased staying power. Oily Skin: For maximum oil absorption, apply before foundation application. Use your kabuki brush or a cosmetic sponge to apply. Large Pores: To reduce the appearance of large pores, apply dry with a sponge or use a kabuki brush in circular motion to buff it into the skin before foundation application. After you have applied your foundation, dampen a cotton pad (ever so slightly) and lightly pat over your pores.
