Living Nature: Ingredients
Using unique ingredients native to the rugged landscapes of New Zealand.
Harakeke
Renowned for its healing gel, Harakeke is one of New Zealand's
oldest plants. Locally known as Flax for its similarities to the Flax
plant found in the Northern Hemisphere, its large, grass-like fibrous
leaves have been used for centuries to create everything from clothing
to mats and nets. The calming, antiseptic gel has also been utilized
for years to heal everything from cuts to burns.
Living Nature, taking its cue from local traditions, uses the gel of
the Harakeke plant for its skin soothing and hydrating properties. It
also makes a pure and natural alternative to petrochemically derived
synthetic gels.
Harakeke is used in these products: Balancing Day Lotion, Invigorating Body Bar, Balancing Night Gel, Men's Soothing Aftershave Gel, Firming Eye Gel, Nature's Hydrating Mist, Firming Flax Cream, Soothing Moisturiser, Hydrating Gel, Vitalising Exfoliant, Hydrating Gel Mask
Kelp
The fastest growing kelp in the world, bladder kelp, is giant
seaweed found in the cool waters around southern New Zealand. With a
height of up to 35 meters or more, kelp helps naturally shelter and
protect small ocean creatures such as butterfish, sea snails, and lace
coral. During its time in the sea, kelp absorbs plenty of rich
nutrients that are later extracted for their many benefits. It's been
used as everything from natural liquid fertilizers, dietary health
supplements, and to boost levels of iodine, potassium, folic acid and
vitamins A, B and D.
Nourishing kelp extract is used in Living Nature products to feed
the skin and hair. In skincare, kelp's mild antiseptic properties
cleanse and purify, while the silica found in the kelp helps build and
maintain strong, healthy hair.
Kelp is used in these products: Balancing Shampoo, Nourishing Body Wash, Purifying Hand Wash
Kumerahou
Named by the Maori, the people native to New Zealand, this flowering
plant has traditionally been used to create a tea that helps relieve
congestion and other cold symptoms. A truly unique plant, elements of
Kumerahou, known as saponins, actually lather simply by rubbing the
flowers and leaves together in water. This means that the ingredients
in Kumerahou can clean skin without the lathering alkalis found in
traditional soaps.
Living nature utilizes Kumerahou exactly for this purpose. Beyond
lathering, the antimicrobial saponins act as natural defenders for skin
and hair. For example, Kumerahou can naturally fight against the fungi
associated with dandruff.
Kumerahou is used in these products: Balancing Shampoo, Purifying Cleanser, Eye Make-up Remover, Purifying Hand Wash, Men's Gentle Cleansing Shaving Gel, Refreshing Body Wash, Nourishing Shampoo, Soothing Shaving Cream,Vitalising Cleanser

in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients, antimicrobial
Manuka Honey is one of the most biologically active and beneficial
honeys found in nature and is known to fight infections and stimulate
the immune system.
Not only does it encourage healing, this powerhouse ingredient acts
as a humectant, drawing moisture into the skin while providing valuable
nutrients to help cells metabolize. It also promotes quick tissue
repair to fix past damage, while the lactic acid found in the honey
smoothes away dead skin cells.

prized for its potent healing properties. Extensive hospital research
has found that it can be effective against the antibiotic-resistant

Totarol
Part of an ancient group of New Zealand forests, the Totara tree
evolved during the Jurassic period over 135 million years ago. One of
the reasons it has lasted so long is its ability to be extremely
resistant to decay due to its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.
The healing compound Totarol, is ethically captured from the Totara
tree and no trees are ever harvested to naturally create the compound.
A perfect skincare ingredient, Totarol is used in Living Nature
products to help repair and combat environmental damage by fighting
free radicals and protecting against oxidative stress.
Totarol is used in these products: Balancing Day Lotion, Nourishing Night Cream, Cleansing Clay Peel, Rich Day Cream, Deep Cleansing Mask, Vitalising Cleanser, Nourishing Day Cream
Halloysite Clay
Found in the Matauri Bay in northern New Zealand, Halloysite clay is
naturally created during the subtropical weathering process of ancient
volcano domes that were created millions of years ago. It's famed for
being one of the most pure and finest clays in the world. To utilize
only the essential elements, Living Nature digs the clay from the
ground and removes the silica sand, only leaving pure, powerful clay.
This clay is renowned for deeply, yet gently, absorbing toxins and
impurities from the skin. These remarkable properties are especially
useful in banishing excess oil, clearing blackheads and gently
exfoliating to aid and nurture oily and acne-prone skin.
Halloysite Clay is used in these products: Cleansing Clay Peel, Deep Cleansing Mask
Calendula
Originally found in the Mediterranean, Calendula is now grown all over the world. Named by the ancient Romans, who grew the herb in their gardens for its flowering beauty, it has been used for hundreds of years in everything from skincare products to soups.

herb for its gentle ability to soothe and calm irritated skin.
