The astringent and antiseptic properties also make it ideal to clarify oily skin and help improve the symptoms of acne. When added to a base oil, it can be used during a circulation-enhancing massage or to help smooth cellulite. It's used as a top note when combined with other essential oils and is compatible with ylang ylang, honey and various varieties of mint. It has a light and tangy bittersweet citrus scent and is cold-pressed from the grapefruit peel for the most pure and potent essential oil possible.

Refreshing wake-up scent
Yum, my top pick for fragrant oils. I find it so refreshing and bright, it kind of wakes me up and helps me focus. I don't use it directly on my skin much, although I hear it has nice astringent qualities. I prefer just to breath it in in small doses, as it can be quite shocking in higher concentrations. Primavera oils are simply the best.

Directions for use
In the bath add 2 –3 drops of grapefruit essential oil to a natural emulsifier such as a base oil, cream, honey, liquid soap or sea salts. To create a body, massage or bath oil, blend 5 to 15 drops of either just grapefruit oil or a combination of different essential oils into 50 ml of a base oil. To experience the aromatherapeutic benefits, add a few drops of oil to a bowl of hot water and inhale the healing steam. You can also use the oil in a fountain, burner or diffuser.
